Member of Management Role

This page introduces how to flexibly distribute/revoke role permissions by importing/removing role members.

Import a member

You can grant role permissions to member users by importing them.

Note: The system-generated administrator account is automatically added as a role member of the system role platform administrator.

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Users > Roles.

  2. Click the name of the role to be viewed.

  3. Click the Role Members tab.

  4. Click Import Member.

  5. Click the checkbox in front of the username to select one or more users.

    Tip: You can select a user group from the drop-down list of user groups in the upper right corner of the dialog box, and enter a username in the username search box to perform a fuzzy search for users.

  6. (Optional) Select the scope (cluster/project/namespace) in which the permission takes effect.

    Tip: It is not supported to assign the Cluster Administrator role of the global cluster to users.

  7. Click Import to import the selected users into the role and distribute the role permissions to these users.

Remove a member

You can revoke the permissions granted to a user by removing the user from the role.

Caution: It is not supported to remove the system-generated platform administrator account.

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Users > Roles.

  2. Click the name of the role to be viewed.

  3. Click the Role Members tab.

    • Click Remove on the right side of the member record to be removed to revoke all the permissions of the member’s role.

    • When a member has multiple roles (project/namespace administrator/developer) in different spaces, you can remove the roles of the member in a specific space by clicking the on the right side of the space.

  1. Click Remove.
