Update CoreDNS Component

CoreDNS is a flexible and scalable DNS server that provides service discovery for Kubernetes clusters. Whether you are in the platform’s global environment or within a cluster created on the platform, you can easily use the CoreDNS component.

You can conveniently manage your domain names by configuring the Hosts file of the CoreDNS component through the interface. This allows for fast, flexible, and secure domain name resolution services. It enables easy service discovery configuration without the need to understand the IP addresses of underlying nodes, further enhancing the cluster’s maintainability and flexibility.

Use and Limitations

Supported only for deployment in platform-created clusters.

Procedure of Operation

1. In the left navigation bar, click Clusters > Clusters.

2. Click on the cluster name where the component will be deployed.

3. Under the Plugins tab, click on CoreDNS, then click on the > Update.

4. In the Host Alias parameter, you can add multiple pairs of domain name resolution records. The Domains field supports entering multiple domains separated by spaces.

5. Click Update.

   Note: After the update, the Hosts file will be reloaded, but it won’t affect the DNS resolution service. After the redeployment is complete, you can start using DNS services to resolve the added domain names within the cluster.
